Newton Construction was excited to undertake the renovation of the Sir David Wallace Sports Hall (SDW) at the University of Nottingham. The SDW Sports Hall is the largest indoor multi-sport and flexible events space, serving as a crucial facility for various sports including Basketball, Badminton, Futsal, Handball, Indoor Hockey, Netball, Trampolining, and Volleyball. The project aimed to enhance the functionality, safety, and aesthetics of the sports hall, ensuring it continues to meet the diverse needs of the University's sports community. Objectives include prioritising the safety of users through the installation of new double doorsets, upgrades to emergency escape stairs, and adherence to safety regulations. Enhance the functionality of the sports hall by installing a new roller shutter door, allowing for increased adaptability and ease of use. Improve the overall aesthetics of the sports hall through the removal of existing bleacher seating and the introduction of modern seating solutions. Newton Construction was committed to delivering a renovated Sir David Wallace Sports Hall that not only mets but exceeded the expectations of the University of Nottingham. The upgraded facility will provide an enhanced environment for sports training and events, contributing to the overall well-being and success of the University's sports community.
